Cuban Regime Hopes to Welcome 2.2 Million Tourists during 2021

MIAMI, United States. – Cuba’s minister of Economy and planning, Alejandro Gil Fernandez, acknowledged in a press conference this Thursday that his government expected to welcome 2.2 million tourists during 2021. This will mean a 6% growth in the economy (after its 11% contraction in 2020).
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, during the first quarter of 202, only 48,163 visitors arrived in Cuba, a figure that casts doubt on the Cuban regime’s expectations.

Cuban news agency Prensa Latina announced that the tour operator will schedule weekly flights to Varadero
MIAMI, United States. – Anglo-German tour operator TUI UK renewed its flights to Varadero this Thursday, according to Cuba’s official news agency Prensa Latina.
“Over one hundred tourists from the United Kingdom are enjoying Varadero this Friday, the most important tourist destination in Cuba, after the Anglo-German tour agency restarted operations with the famed Varadero tourism spot,” reported Prensa Latina.
According to statements by Yamil Millares, chief of operations at the “Juan Gualberto Gomez” International Airport in Matanzas, the tourists come from Manchester, in the United Kingdom.
