Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], June 10 (ANI): Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended a Bangladeshi human trafficker who has been staying in India illegally for the last 20 years and was on the wanted list of the police for a long time.
On 7 June, acting on the reliable information of the Intelligence Branch of BSF, the troops of Border Out Post Ghojadanga, 153 Battalion, under Sector Kolkata ambushed near ICP Ghojadanga (IB). A man (human trafficker) was observed coming towards ICP Gojadanga (IB). On the basis of specific information, the ambush party stopped and searched the man. On searching 2 mobile phones, Indian SIM cards, 5 Bangladeshi SIM cards and many fake Aadhaar cards were recovered from him. The Federation of Indian Export Organisation and several other export promotion bodies have made a joint appeal to chief minister Mamata Banerjee to allow movement of inter-state carriages and operations with 50 per cent workforce.
The government had announced stricter restrictions to control the spread of Covid-19.
The federation wants export-oriented MSME sector, manufacturers, SEZs, process industries and their raw material vendors to operate with at least 50 per cent workforce.
The federation said suspension of work and ban on movement of inter-state trucks had resulted in the imposition of heavy penalties on exporters by foreign buyers for failing to honour the deadline and commitment.

KOLKATA: A Bangladeshi woman, allegedly trafficked into India, has been rescued by Border Security Force jawans close to a border outpost in North 24 Parganas district, a BSF statement said on Tuesday.
The border guards intercepted the woman at Ghojadanga outpost when she was trying to cross over to the neighbouring country on Monday night, the statement said.
During interrogation, the woman said that a few months back she had been sold to a brothel in the red-light area of Sonagachi here by a gang of international traffickers.
