Boulder, Colo., USA: The Geological Society of America s Northeastern Section will meet online on 14-15 March. The meeting s theme is Lithosphere, Hydrosphere, Anthroposphere, which reflects interrelated components of planet Earth. In particular, over the past several decades, we have become more aware of the impact of humans on the planet. Organizers intend for this meeting to be a venue to communicate not only our recent advances in understanding our planet but also the role of humans in transforming it.
The featured symposia are Stories in Stone: The Legacy of Jelle Zeilinga de Boer, and Magma Ascent to Magma Mingling, Volatility, and Volcanism: A Session in Honor of Sheila J. Seaman. Technical sessions cover a range of topics, including urban hydrology, technology-driven active learning, environmental quality and infrastructure, and private wells.
