Approval of mosque three years after opening 'Council embarrassment' | Bradford Telegraph and Argus

The Madrassa tul Madina mosque in Beacon Road, which has been approved for use three years after it opened. Photo: Google Maps THE decision to approve retrospective plans for a mosque in a former doctor’s surgery is an “embarrassment” for Bradford Council, a councillor and objectors have said. Plans for the mosque in Beacon Road, Wibsey, went before Councillors yesterday, three years after Bradford Council wrongly told the mosque owners they didn’t need planning permission to open the place of worship. The operation of the mosque has caused deep concern for many local residents, particularly with parking, irregular opening houses and noise with dozens of complaints submitted.

Are the government admitting that they should have asked for an extension to sort this out before plunging Northern Ireland into chaos, or are they admitting that the situation is an inevitable result of Brexit (UK to seek lifting of Brexit controls in Northern Ireland, 2 February)?
