LAS VEGAS, 12 Feb. - Frank Sinatraâs attempt to end, finally, decades of allegations linking him to the Mafia has succeeded at the official level with yesterdayâs recommendation of the Nevada Gaming Board to grant him a six-month temporary gambling licence.
But the tenuous nature of the decision, the accumulation of Mafia rumors going back to 1942, and the personal attitude of the singer during his two hours evidence, may not be enough to bring him the respectability he seems to crave.
