UAE: Fatal, serious accidents dip in Ajman

There has been a 33 and 44 per cent dip in death caused due to fatal and serious accidents in the northern emirate of Ajman , respectively, last year, data showed.
Major-General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, attributed the appreciable reduction in the death toll to the stellar efforts of the Traffic and Patrols Department in enhancing road safety. Run-over accident deaths also decreased by 25 per cent last year. This contributed to accomplishing the goal of the UAE’s Ministry of Interior to make the country the safest in the world,” he said.

Authorities in Ajman closed down a café permanently and slapped a Dh60,000 fine on it for blatantly disregarding the closure notice (sticker) issued earlier for violating Covid-19 measures and continuing operations without permission.

The Ajman Police on Wednesday announced the extension of a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines. The discount offer rolled out to mark the 49th UAE National Day will now be on till January 15, 2021.
