Major General Matt Quinn nominated for Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs, Department of Veterans Affairs

WASHINGTON D.C. - President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Major General Matt Quinn for Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs, Department of Veterans Affairs. Major General Quinn is a retired Major General who served nearly 37 years in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard leading up to his selection as the 27th Adjutant General for Montana. Most recently, Major General Quinn served as the head of Montana’s COVID-19 Task Force. “He is a veteran of Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, commanding Soldiers at the company and battalion level.  Prior to selection as the Adjutant General, Quinn was the President of ELM Locating and Utility Services, while serving in the Montana National Guard as a traditional (Drill status) Guardsman.  Like all National Guard and Reserve women and men who serve, he carefully balanced his family, military and civilian careers.

Gianforte: Vaccines open to all Montanans age 16 and older April 1

BILLINGS - Governor Greg Gianforte announced in a press conference Tuesday, COVID-19 vaccines will be made available to all Montanans age 16 and older by April 1, 2021. As a greater supply of vaccine becomes available to Montana, Gov. Gianforte said we will move into the next Phase, ahead of the federal government s timeline. On Thursday, April 1, we will make these safe, effective vaccines available to every Montanan who wants one, he said. Gov. Gianforte went on to encourage all Montanans to receive the vaccine, once it becomes available, so that we may soon remove our masks and throw them in the trash can.

Gianforte – Quinn – O-Hair Provide COVID 19 Pandemic Update Governor Greg Gianforte held a press conference on Friday, along with Adjutant General Matthew Quinn and Todd O’Hair, CEO of the Montana Chamber of Commerce to provide an update on the COVID 19 pandemic response in Montana. Gianforte began by acknowledging and mourning the 1,400 COVID deaths in Montana, but also had hopeful news in the fight against the pandemic. “As of today, 39 of our 56 counties have had cases in the single digits,” said Gianforte. “Of those 39 counties, 16 counties now have zero cases of COVID-19. This is great news. Communities are responding to the progress that is being made and making the right decisions for their citizens in response.”
