The Glenwood Springs Planning and Zoning Commission will continue deliberating the approval of a planned unit development district application near the West Glenwood Mall due to resident concerns about population density and building heights.
The project plans involve constructing 360 rental units at 214 Center Drive, which is currently a vacant lot. It also includes multiple infrastructure upgrades within the area.
The current owner of the parcel is the Diemoz family, who own the company under the company Glenwood Partnership LLLP.
R2 Partners, the developer for the project, will purchase the parcel from Glenwood Partnership LLLP.
The official applicant is listed as 214 Center Drive, LLC, which is an official affiliate of R2 Partners.

When it comes to fire danger in the Glenwood Springs area, the local fire department has a few tips for folks so all can mitigate potential threats.
“We live in a fire-prone area, so we have a risk of wildlife year-round,” said Glenwood Springs Fire Chief Gary Tillotson. “But current local conditions are an important thing to check.”
Tillotson advised that visitors and locals alike should always check for current fire restrictions on the Garfield County and Glenwood Springs city websites.
For example, Tillotson said there’s a restriction on the use of fireworks in Garfield County and within Glenwood Springs city limits.

No one dismisses the need for the South Bridge Project, but where to construct the alternative route is a subject of debate in Glenwood Springs.
The Glenwood Springs City Council will vote on whether to go with the first option for the project route, which would bore underneath the runway at the municipal airport. That route would begin at Midland Avenue and Four Mile Road, where it would follow Airport Road before tunneling below the airport’s runway. The South Bridge would then cross the Roaring Fork River before connecting to Colorado Highway 82.
