On Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Erie County HIV Task Force held the 7th Annual HIV / AIDS Awareness Walk. The Erie County HIV Task Force is a collaboration of local organizations and individuals dedicated to educating, supporting, and advocating for people living with HIV/AIDS and preventing the spread of infection. The HIV / AIDS walk provides a reminder to the local community that making personal health a priority is everyone s right. This year s awareness walk also took place on the annual HIV Vaccine Awareness Day. This day is focused on the potential of a future where a vaccine is introduced to the world to prevent the spread of HIV altogether. This year s event returned to Perry Square and enjoyed a lovely turnout, where participants enjoyed educational materials and testing opportunities via the PA Thrive Partnership mobile unit at the event.
