© Getty Images Streaming service Hulu plans to release an extensive new documentary on the GameStop stock controversy next Monday, ABC News has announced. The approximately hourlong film, titled GameStopped, examines the events surrounding the wild price fluctuations of GameStop stock after users on a Reddit forum began purchasing shares of the heavily shorted company. The piece was produced by ABC News Originals, and staff on the effort including ABC News chief business, technology and economics correspondent Rebecca Jarvis were drawn from ABC News podcast “The Dropout.” ABC and Hulu are both owned by the Walt Disney Company.
