The last residents were moved out last week and the landmark Gallowgate building boarded up. The new owners said they will consult with local people before deciding how to proceed with redevelopment of the site.

The building is B-listed which means it is considered to be of special architectural or historic interest and is a major example of a particular period, style or building type. The Bellgrove Hotel was built in the 1930s in an art deco style and is believed to be a significant example of this style in the city.
