A proposal is still moving forward at the Montana Legislature to have the state contribute some funding to support Lake County’s law enforcement services on the Flathead Indian Reservation.
The Lake County Commissioners voted 2 to 1 Monday to rescind a resolution to quit collecting fees on behalf of the county’s three irrigation districts. If it hadn’t been voted down, the resolution would have taken effect in July of this year.
Leaders from Lake County were in Helena Thursday, making their case that the state should contribute funding to support law enforcement services on the Flathead Indian Reservation.
