Peruvian ginger exports more than doubled in 2020
Peruvian ginger exports experienced significant growth in 2020. According to the Association of Agricultural Producers Guilds of Peru (Agap), the value of shipments grew by 156% going from 42 million in 2019 to 106 million dollars in 2020. The country shipped a total of 50,649 tons, i.e. 116.24% more than in 2019, according to data from the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat). Ginger is an important product in our agro-export basket, due to the potential it has in various markets, stated the executive director of AGAP, Gabriel Amaro. In fact, its top destinations registered notable increases last year.
