laura: our next guest is a man who has some experience. first hand experience extracting hostages in afghanistan. he is a retired navy seal master chief and a recipient of the congressional medal of honor for that rescue of an american doctor from the taliban back in 2012 and joins me now. first of all, thank you for your service, for being here tonight. your take on the situation, just as as you are witnessing this unfold, especially when we know there are still hundreds of americans on the ground in afghanistan? yeah, thanks, laura. first and foremost, you know, the nation is in mourning. today pierced the heart of our country. in large part because this year is an important year of
the way we know how. we use force, overwhelming violence, and action, and that is how we take this back and show that we are american and we have the greatest fighting force in the history of the world. laura: are you confident, ed, under this military leadership, that that is possible, given what we ve seen just in the past ten days at that airport, and what our troops have been asked to do in the ten days with, right now, even the centcom general says oh, this is going to keep happening, the attacks on the airport are going to keep happening? well, what i know for a fact if given the ability to go do the job that we know how to do, we wouldn t be in this situation to begin with. we would have been over with this war a long time ago. but the military has always been hamstrung by politicians. we ve always been trying to play
