The newest term of the Lowell School Committee is underway as the committee’s new lineup was inaugurated Tuesday afternoon in the City Council chambers.
LOWELL Wonky bleachers, a ripped floor and insufficient track and field spectator space in the new Riddick Athletic Center were some of the issues discussed during the Dec. 21 meeting of the School Building Committee.
Lowell’s election results demonstrated the advantage of incumbency, especially when so few voters bother to cast a ballot. It also marked a setback for the aspirations of what can be generally viewed as the new breed of city politicians, who failed to win either an additional City Council or School Committee seat.
