Jake Odorizzi excited to play alongside Zack Greinke with Astros
HOUSTON Jake Odorizzi decided to fashion his game like Zack Greinke s when he was still in high school.
Now entering his 10th season in the majors, the right-hander has become teammates with the man he s looked up to for so long after Odorizzi signed with the Houston Astros. I m looking forward to getting to know him on a personal level and talking pitching with him because he s got a great mind for pitching, Odorizzi said Tuesday. He s the guy that mechanically I tried to emulate, repertoire, everything like that. So, if I can keep doing it, as long as he s done it, I d be pretty darn happy with myself.

One of the potential feel-good stories of this spring in Cubs camp was the re-signing of Pedro Strop to a minor-league contract. Strop appeared healthy, and if he could get back some of the velocity he appeared to have lost in 2019 and 2020, he could help out the 2021 Cubs bullpen.
That will now be put on hold:
Strop being held out of camp for violating COVID-19 protocols. Unclear when he ll be allowed to return. Must quarantine (possibly a week or more) Gordon Wittenmyer (@GDubCub) March 7, 2021
