PUTRAJAYA (Oct 14): The franchise industry has grown well in Malaysia, with 614 local franchisors, 68 master franchisees and 408 foreign franchisors being registered under the Franchise Act 1998, said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi. He said there were 13,018 franchise business premises operating, of which 5,419 were those of franchisors or master franchisees while 7,599 were owned by the franchisees.
