Fifteen-year-old Clancy Morgan did not think a trip to her local rubbish tip would prove to be the source of musical inspiration.
Her parents had brought her along to find some fence parts for their property in Kuttabul, just outside Mackay, when she spotted an old weathered piano with missing keys. It looked really old, like it had a life somewhere else, she said.

It had missing keys and was past its prime time but a thrown away piano somehow avoided becoming crushed on the rubbish heap.
It was moved inside the Incredable Tip Shop where Clancy Morgan spotted the old, worn out girl and proved it deserved a second lease on life.
“Many customers stopped to listen and really enjoyed the entertainment; some even came to compliment me on how nice it was to hear someone play the piano,” Ms Morgan said.
“This got me thinking about how lovely it would be to place a reconditioned piano somewhere in the Mackay community.”
