From the glitz and glamour of the Hamptons to the old-school appeal of Coney Island, beaches in the New York City vicinity tend to steal the spotlight. But away from the Atlantic Coast and across the Empire State, in the Adirondacks and the Finger Lakes, Western New York and northeastern, there are sandy havens to be found.
