EatOkra, in partnership with Dine Diaspora, is providing $10,000 grants for Black women-owned restaurants across the United States. The EatOkra Black Women in Food Grants provide capital for Black women to accelerate growth for their brick-and-mortar restaurants.
Aligned with EatOkra’s values, the opportunity will enable these businesses to “spread their wings and embrace their visions for tomorrow.”

differences between the way the two parties operate. the washington post has a piece out that talks about donald trump s new budget. it s not all about donald trump, but his new budget, just some highlights from it. it eliminates the u.s. funding. it eliminates $3 billion in grants. humanity, food grants are gone. poor people are really targeted in this budget. how do you separate party politics when one party seems very determined to go after the poor? first of all, that s what i mean. trump may have proposed it but the congress has to pass it. i m not saying ignore trump, i m saying don t let mcconnell off the hook, don t let ryan off the hook, don t let state capitols off the hook. don t let people not examine them. if a particular party is engaging in an activity, we should have a movement that can
quickly. if they re forced to defend the fairness issue. they re cooked. beyond the partisan politics, when you look at what they re proposing in the ryan plan, 63% of the plan is budget cuts targeting programs for the poor. $3.3 trillion from low income programs, $2 trillion from other programs. this is really devastating to a lot of people depending on this. that s exactly right. and in fact, if you look at those cuts, medicaid, food grants, pell grants for lower income kids to access higher education. they re precisely the kinds of programs that provide people with the economic mobility that s been lacking in this economy. you want to talk about fairness, those are the kinds of mobility
