A team of Inspectors under Supervision of Deputy Director Supplies, Narinder Kour and Assistant Director Enforcement Jammu, Shohab Latief, checked more than 50 establishments in areas of NewPlot, Janipur, Bantalab. Shopkeepers, including Sellers of Milk Products, Poultry and Meat Sellers, Vegetable Vendors were sensitized about various rules and regulations. They were instructed to display the Rate List and sell the commodities on the rates fixed by the Department/Associations. Owners of Food Joints and Restaurants were instructed to use only commercial LPG cylinders. People belonging to the area were also advised to approach the Department in case of any complaint. Similar Market Checks were also conducted in all Districts of Jammu Division by concerned Assistant Directors.

The impasse between the government and local traders in Kashmir over the prices of mutton continues as almost a week has passed since the two parties held a meeting last Saturday in order to bring an end to the row, which has now caused a shortage of meat in the markets.
According to local media reports, the Divisional Administration is firm on not showing any leniency to the mutton dealers in the Valley, who have rejected the government-proposed rate of Rs 515 per kg for the meat.

The Director also took stock of implementation of doorstep delivery in the district. He stressed that implementation of doorstep delivery is imperative to bring in transparency and accountability in the system, which has a pivotal role in implementation of National Food Security Act.

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], February 19 (ANI): To facilitate new industrial projects to take off without delay, the Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday gave the nod to amend the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion Act, 2016 (PBIP Act, 2016) to incorporate provisions for automated deemed approval of various regulatory clearances.
Enabling the provision would not only expedite speedy approval/clearances but also assure industrial units of a time-frame within which clearances would be granted. With this Punjab becomes one of the few states to grant deemed approvals.
