India has extended the timeline for duty-free imports of yellow peas by a month until April 2024 to cool down pulse prices. The duty on yellow peas was first implemented in November 2017 at 50%. India largely imports yellow peas from Canada and Russia. Additionally, the government has extended stock limits on tur and urad dal to prevent hoarding and ensure affordable prices.
These project proposals include nine R&D projects, one project on machine development and one project on equipment development. Goyal emphasised on the need for enhancement of collaborative efforts among the government and industry to enhance indigenous development of technical textiles products.

The panel also asked WDRA to continue its efforts to create an environment for promoting e-NWR and pledge financing. The WDRA was constituted on October 26, 2010, as per the provisions of Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007.
It has halved the limit on wheat stocks held by traders and wholesalers to 1,000 tonnes while lowering inventory limits for millers and retailers, said Sanjeev Chopra, secretary at the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
