Picnic at Spiegel Grove among wildflowers
FREMONT – As wildflower season at Spiegel Grove nears its end, the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums invites visitors to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds and receive a discount on museum and Hayes Home admission.
Visitors can picnic among the wildflowers at Spiegel Grove, the 25-acre estate of President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes and an official arboretum. Before or after their picnic, they can take advantage of a 15-percent discount on each site pass that includes the Hayes Home guided tour and self-guided museum tour or museum-only admission in their order.

Kids can make suncatcher at free program
FREMONT - Kids can make a suncatcher and enjoy prepackaged pancakes during Second Saturdays R 4 Kids on March 13 at the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums.
Kids will learn about Maslenitsa, a weeklong Russian festival celebrating the end of winter and welcoming the sun for spring.
Participants can stop by between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. The program is open-house style, and admission is free.
Second Saturdays R 4 Kids activities focus on Col. Webb Hayes’ travels around the world. Webb Hayes was the son of President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes, and he founded Hayes Presidential, which is America’s first presidential library.

Kids can create a craft or participate in activity relating to countries around the globe during a free, monthly program at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums. Second Saturdays R 4 Kids will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month in the museum.
Activities will focus on Col. Webb Hayes’ travels around the world. Webb Hayes was the son of President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes, and he founded Hayes Presidential, which is America’s first presidential library. Activities and crafts will be inspired by Webb Hayes’ adventures and locations he visited.
This event is open-house style, so participants can stop by any time between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. to complete the activities. This program is focused for kids in kindergarten through third grade, but kids of any age are welcome to participate.
