When I saw this story, I had to do something with it because the Opal Apple is my absolute favorite and First Fruits Farms is running their annual promotion of this delicious apple that I discovered in the grocery store 5-or-6-years ago.
First Fruits Marketing President Chuck Zeutenhorst says it’s a relatively new variety, but it’s been a great ride so far …
ZEUTENHORST … “It takes a lot of time and effort and certainly a lot of money to promote and develop a new apple variety, and this one is no different. So, it’s been 10 years of hard work and we feel like though that the variety, we don’t feel like, the apple, this particular apple variety is doing really, really well and we’re really excited about it.”
