Jefferson County has gone more than a week without having to report another death within the county. That’s according to Public Health officials.
In other good news, the 14 day average positivity rate for this day stands at 3.9%; as of the beginning of the month that average was 8.1%.
There are 16 new cases in the county, that total rises to 5,495 Sunday.
225 cases are active, 5,189 have recovered and 81 have died due to the virus.
There are 15 in the hospital and no active cases to report in nursing homes or assisted living facilities.

Eighty-six new cases of COVID-19 were reported today (Thursday, Feb. 25), bringing the total number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases to-date to 6,061.

To date, 5,503 cases have been released from isolation.
Seventeen cases are hospitalized.

Jefferson County sees 1,135 new tests administered with a small amount coming back positive. There were 19 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, that total climbs to 5,277.
243 cases are active, 4,953 have recovered, and 81 have died from the virus.
There are currently 17 hospitalizations. There are no current cases found in nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
Officials say there are some significant signs of progress. There are more recoveries than new cases with another 52 recovering, hospitalizations have decreased by 5 and those in isolation have decreased by 28.
