Activist group Occupy Justice have cast politicians and businessmen linked to the assasination of Daphne Caruana Galizia and mired in corruption scandals as ‘indigenous pigs’ in a protest stunt aimed at shining a light on corrupt dealings.
Activists wearing pigs masks, some with their mouths stuffed with false €5000 bills, were photographed holding up placards with names of politicians at locations associated with a particular scandal.

The European Parliament has just approved €672.5 billion in grants and loans meant to help member states recover from the pandemic.
Approval paves the way for member states to submit recovery plans to receive funding, which was approved last year.
Malta has been allocated €1.1 billion through the fund. It is not yet clear how Malta will spend its allocation, although the island is among six EU countries advised to curb aggressive tax practices in recommendations submitted by the EU Commission as part of its funding proposal.
Malta is expected to receive a cash injection of €316.5 million in grants and €835 million in loans payable by 2058 through the Recovery and Resilience Facility proposed by the European Commission last year.

Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat gave his blessing for then MFSA CEO Joe Cuschieri to continue drawing an additional pay packet from the regulatory authority, a parliamentary committee heard on Tuesday.
Apart from his pay as CEO, which was over €100,000, Cuschieri also requested to be paid for his role as an ex-officio member of the MFSA’s board.
In a parliamentary hearing before the public appointments committee on Tuesday, MFSA chairman John Mamo said he had sought advice from Muscat after an internal audit committee at the financial regulator flagged how Cuschieri was drawing this extra pay over and above his remuneration as CEO.
