Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record Betty Lou Whisenhunt was born April 24, 1933 in Bowie, Tx in Montague County to George Oliver Lyon and Jewel Gladys Lyon. She passed away in El Paso, Tx on January 13, 2021. She graduated from Levelland High School in Levelland, Tx. Betty met the love of her life, Ray Whisenhunt, and they married July 5, 1950. This was the beginning of a 65 year journey together. They moved to Lamesa, TX in 1950, where later their son Danny was born. The family moved to Seminole, TX where they opened their first business, an auto parts store. Betty was employed by Pioneer National Gas company as a secretary but also helped with inventory and bookkeeping at the parts store.
