Twelve local leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami were arrested today while holding what law enforcers said was a secret meeting at the party office in Feni town.

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested four people along with 97 bottles of phensidyl and 950 grams of cannabis from Sadar upazila of Feni last night.
The arrestees are Billal Hossain alias Sumon, 25, and Md Rafiqul Islam, 30, of Cumilla s Chauddagram upazila, and Md Jahangir Alam, 25, and Rafiqul islam, 30, of Noakhali s Begumganj upazila, said a Rab official.
Md Junayed Zahedi, acting commanding officer of Rab-7 Feni camp, today said acting on a tip off, a Rab team launched a drive in Mohammad Ali Bazar area on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway last night and arrested the four along with the drugs.
