After a blockbuster card on Sunday (Sept. 17) the Bluegrass State still had plenty to offer with six $100,000 Kentucky Commonwealth Series finals for freshman and sophomore filly trotters and pacers. Hungry For Love and Prince Of Honor captured their respective divisions while Flawless also glistened at Red Mile on Monday (Sept. 18).
On Monday (Aug. 21), Red Mile hosted the $80,000 third leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes for freshman pacing fillies and heavy favourite Geocentric did not disappoint as she remains a perfect five-for-five in her young career after hitting the finish line in 1:51.
On Tuesday (Aug. 1) at Red Mile, Geocentric (Sweet Lou-Geometry) tossed down a :26.3 final panel en route to a 1:49.4 mile in the $80,000 Kentucky Sires Stake for two-year-old fillies, the fastest clocking for any two-year-old pacer this year.
Mambacita completed a series sweep with a track record-equaling performance in the $100,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes final for three-year-old trotting fillies on Tuesday (July 4) at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, while Charleston, Allegiant and Tip Top Cat all broke divisional track records in their respective finals on a blockbuster Independence Day card.
