Capital deserted as people leave for hometowns
Residents complain of being held hostage inside homes
ISLAMABAD:
The capital city wore a deserted look on Sunday as citizens who are natives of other areas have left for their hometowns earlier to celebrate Eidul Fitr due to the closure of inter-city public transport.
On the other hand, those who have their own transport are also leaving for their native towns, taking advantage of the nine-day-long holidays.
The hustle and bustle of the city has vanished after the closure of markets and public transport to ensure citizens’ protection from the deadly virus.
“I am proceeding to my hometown, Bahawalpur, prior to closure of public transport, to visit my parents and celebrate Eid,” said Fatima Sohail.
