Doha: The Quranic Botanic Garden (QBG) has concluded its 2020- 2021 Fun and Learn, Young Botanist, and Food Security educational programmes helping young people devise solutions to some of Qatar’s most pressing environmental challenges through dedicated online workshops, interactive discussions with QBG experts and competitions.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, QBG held its Fun and Learn programme for children between 6 and 12 years virtually through social media. Designed to teach the younger generation about plants and the environment through a social media competition, the Fun and Learn programme aims to spread awareness of environmental action and the plants mentioned in Holy Qur’an, Hadith, and Sunnah.

Doha: The Quranic Botanic Garden (QBG), the first garden in the world to exhibit all plant species mentioned in the Holy Quran, Hadith, and Sunnah, celebrated Qatar Environment Day, held annually on February 26, with a wild plant restoration event at Rawdat Al Faras in Al Nasraniya.
The activity was held in partnership with the Environmental Protection Reserves & Wildlife Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, which allocated Rawdat Al Faras to be rehabilitated by QBG with the close cooperation of the Qatari National Committee for Education, Culture and Science that in turn coordinated the participation of Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the Department of Conservation and Energy Efficiency ‘Tarsheed’ at Qatar General Elec

QF’s Qur’anic Botanic Garden welcomes delegation from Swiss Embassy in Qatar

Doha: The Qur’anic Botanic Garden, a member of Qatar Foundation, the first garden in the world to exhibit all 60 plant species mentioned in the Holy Quran, Hadith, and Sunnah, recently welcomed a delegation from the Embassy of Switzerland in Qatar to its premises for a team-building outing.
Qur’anic Botanic Garden’s (QBG’s) staff walked the delegation through the garden, its facilities, and history, as well as its mock-up garden in Education City. The Swiss delegation of 15 members visited the garden as part of a team-building activity and learned more about the rich variety of plants and trees in Islamic culture, their relevance in the Holy Qur’an, Hadith, and Sunnah.
