Aisha Buhari with Ibrahim Attahiru widow
First lady Aisha Buhari on Sunday paid condolence visits to Fati Attahiru widow of the late chief of army staff Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, Igbere TV reports.
Attahiru and 10 other military officers died in a plane crash in Kaduna on Friday. They were buried at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja on Saturday.
The first lady visited the bereaved family at the Flag Staff House, Niger Barracks, Abuja.
Mrs Buhari was accompanied by her children and the minister of women affairs Pauline Tallen among others.
“The death of the Late Chief Of Army Staff and the other military officers aboard the ill-fated aircraft is a monumental loss to their families and the Nation at large,” she said in an Instagram post.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday spoke with Fati Attahiru, widow of the late chief of army staff Ibrahim Attahiru to again console her over her loss.
The Presidency said Buhari also spoke with the spouses of the other deceased military officers through Attahiru’s widow.
The officers died in a plane crash on Friday and were buried on Saturday in a ceremony which neither the president nor his vice Yemi Osinbajo personally attended.
In the telephone conversation with Attahiru’s widow, the president hailed the sacrifices of the military men who lost their lives and the Armed Forces in general.

Attahiru and the other ten senior officers, died in a plane crash in Kaduna State on Friday when the Beachcraft 350 aircraft came down due to bad weather.
President Muhammadu Buhari has described Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, the late Chief of Army Staff as an outstanding soldier and an institution builder.
