The Gujarat state transport department has suspended the licences of 15 vehicle fitness centres for irregularities in issuing certificates. The centres were found to be issuing fitness certificates to run-down vehicles from Rajasthan based on doctored images. Police complaints may be filed against three centres that were found to be morphing vehicle images. The suspension period ranges from 15 days to six months.
