Verndale, MN (KROC-AM News) - A child was airlifted to a Twin Cities Hospital following a farming-related accident in central Minnesota.
The Wadena County Sheriff s Office says the young victim suffered serious injuries Tuesday afternoon after becoming entangled in a piece of farm machinery at a rural property north of Verndale. A news release says the child, whose age and name have not been released, was mixing feed and got caught in a power take-off shaft.

The person who called 911 indicated they were transporting the injured child to a nearby hospital in their personal vehicle. A medical helicopter was then dispatched and brought the victim to the North Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

A child suffered a serious injury in a farm accident in Wadena County Tuesday afternoon.
The Wadena County Sheriff s Office says it received a call about a child caught in farm equipment in section 30 of Wing River Township at around 4:30 p.m.
As police responded, the caller said they d managed to get the child free and would be taking them to a hospital in their own vehicle.
Police arrived at the scene to learn the child had become stuck in a PTO shaft while mixing feed.
