A grieving Tobago man is appealing to the public not to refuse God s help in the fight against covid19.
Stephen Crooks, who lost his wife Diana Cupid-Crooks to covid19 on May 18, said the covid19 vaccine was God s way of helping mankind recover from the pandemic.
Crooks, who got his first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, was swabbed on Thursday and is awaiting the result of his covid19 PCR test. His wife was not vaccinated.
He told Newsday on Monday, This coronavirus is not a joke. It is taking life.

Tobago has recorded its third covid19 death – the first in eight months.
The THA Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development on Monday said the patient, a 62-year-old woman with co-morbidities, died on Sunday. No other information was provided on the deceased.
Newsday understands the woman was admitted to Scarborough General Hospital at the end of April, after complaining of feeling unwell, and was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit.
Health Secretary Tracy Davidson-Celestine on Monday said she was saddened by the loss.
“No one should have to die due to this virus, she said. The staff did all they could, and our hearts go out to the family and loved ones. We will do our best to offer further emotional support at this time.”

Tobago has recorded its third covid19 death – the first in eight months.
The Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development on Monday said the patient, a 62-year-old woman with comorbidities, died on Sunday. No other information was provided on the patient.

56 active covid19 cases in Tobago

The THA Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development on Thursday announced four new covid19 cases in the last 24 hours in Tobago.
In a press release, the division said there was one discharge. There are now 56 active covid19 cases on the island.
It said the number of samples submitted to the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA) and other local sites for testing is 4,454.
Overall, there have been 251 cases and two deaths.
