Falmouth Harbour celebrates its 150th anniversary by supporting Falmouth Classics 2021

The event will take place from 11 -13 June, Covid 19 restrictions permitting. Support for the Classics will be the highlight of the Falmouth Harbour Commissioner s celebrations to mark the Trust Port s 150th anniversary. Falmouth Harbour Chief Executive Officer, Miles Carden, said In this important year of celebration for the Harbour and through our marina Falmouth Haven we are excited to announce our support, to the largest heritage and classics sailing event in the UK. We are really excited to increase our support to the event in 2021 in the Harbour s milestone year. Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival 2021 to be virtual again

A unanimous decision has been made by the organisers of Falmouth’s International Sea Shanty Festival over this year s event. In a joint statement issued this afternoon, they said that this year s event, due to take place on June 11 to 13 would instead take place over one day only, in virtual room. This will be on Saturday, June 19 from 6pm and available to view live over Facebook and YouTube. The organisers said: In respect of the current situation with coronavirus (Covid-19) and given that the festival normally attracts in excess of 65,000 people, it would not be feasible to go ahead with the physical plans for this year.
