The West Virginia House of Delegates approved, on Feb. 28, 2024, a bill that would further restrict transgender-related health care in West Virginia. House Bill 5297 would prohibit health care professionals from providing pubertal modulation and hormonal therapy to assist in a gender transition for a minor. The bill passed by an 88-11 vote, with one member absent or not voting. It now goes to the West Virginia Senate for consideration.
