supposed national guard records were doctored and forged. so this is a could nnundrum in ways. if you ve got a bell curve, saying the white house, 80% of america that believe this is legitimate. they re banking this will put that issue for rest for a certain percentage of that 80% that might be susceptible to this sort of thing. joe, is this brought up because it s a black/white thing or because of his father s heritage? what was the auspices that brought this to the forefront and brought it to the attention of middle america to make it such a contentious issue? reporter: well, i think that it s it s the fact that stepping aside from the fagts of the issue, yes, we do in fact have a birth certificate here, hawaii certifying over and over and over again the president was in fact born there, you do have some areas, some cracks there in the american narrative that people aren t willing to sort of bridge. you talk about the fact that hawaii is sort of alien to a lot
