The Kane County coroner Friday afternoon identified an Aurora man as the person killed in a shootout with police on the border of Geneva and Batavia on Wednesday.
Authorities have released the identity of the man shot Wednesday by Kane County deputies. Court records indicate he had been charged with several felonies earlier in the week, including fleeing and eluding.
The Kane County Sheriff s police dog Hudson will be laid to rest with full police honor in a public funeral Thursday, June 1, at Kaneland Harter Middle School in Sugar Grove.
Police say a man who was sought by various suburban agencies this week stole a car in Aurora and fled. Later, he engaged in a shootout in Geneva and was killed.
A carjacking suspect was fatally shot by Kane County sheriff s deputies Wednesday after leading police on a miles-long car chase that ended in an exchange of gunfire at Randall Road and Fabyan Parkway in Batavia near the Geneva border, authorities said.
