A team composed of L3Harris Technologies, Leidos and MAG Aerospace will compete for a U.S. Army program to develop a fleet of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft to gather operational intelligence against the country’s adversaries. L3Harris will lead the industry team for the Army’s High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System program, which seeks to equip Bombardier Global 6500 business jets with deep-sensing platforms.
The two ATHENA aircraft are part of the Army’s long-term move from prop-driven intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance to higher-performance jets.
