MAPLE FALLS, Wash. A passenger jumped into the drivers seat of a stopped vehicle and led law enforcement on a high speed chase in Whatcom County Friday.
State Patrol Trooper Heather Axtman posted about the incident on Twitter, saying a trooper stopped a vehicle at Mount Baker Highway and Kendall Highway just before noon for a traffic violation.
They found that the driver was suspended and while they were placing the person into custody, the passenger in the vehicle hopped into the driver’s seat and sped off.
Everson Police spotted the vehicle going over 100mph toward Sumas on Kendall Highway.
