Three Ways to Attend Washington Business Partnership Annual Dinner

The annual Greater Washington Business Partnership Dinner is coming up, with different options for how to attend in light of the pandemic. The event hosted by Washington Economic Development Group, Washington Chamber of Commerce, and Main Street Washington typically hosts around 300 people at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, but this year community members can choose from three different attendance options. Chamber Event Coordinator Alisha Davis says you can choose “watch party,” which involves dinner at a choice of five restaurants in the county, “grab and go gala,” where you can get your meal to-go from one of the local restaurants and the link to watch the program at home, or “sofa soiree,” in which you simply receive the link to watch the 30 minute program. Davis says registration for any of these options includes entry to a drawing for a Washington County Gift Basket, “So we’re kind of making it hybrid, in a year when we need to be cognizant of everything

The Washington Chamber of Commerce is hoping to generate some laughs for lights at a fundraiser happening this week. The Chamber is partnering with Lebowski’s Rock ‘N Bowl to host comedian and University of Iowa alum Scott Long for a dinner show tomorrow and Friday night from 6-9 p.m. at the bowling alley. Tickets are $50 for a three-meat platter barbecue dinner and show, and are available by table reservations only. Chamber Event Coordinator Alisha Davis says only 10 tables are available each night, and they will be placed six feet apart from each other. As we move past the holiday season and into January, the Washington Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Lebowski’s Rock ‘N Bowl for an event to keep spirits high. The two entities are hosting national touring comedian and University of Iowa alum Scott Long for a comedy dinner show on Thursday, January 7th from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and will include a barbecue dinner. Proceeds of the event will go toward the Chamber’s holiday lighting around the downtown square. Chamber Event Coordinator Alisha Davis says the Chamber wanted to host this event to supplement other fundraisers that were cancelled in the past year and to give something to entertain residents, “I’m excited for this. We’ve never really done anything like this, but I love going to comedy shows and I just think I’m excited to get our group of close friends together and have something to look forward to.”
