A Swords counsellor has spoken of how a brush with depression led to her pursuing a career in psychotherapy, and to setting up a successful practice of her own in the town.
Eileen Hopkins works as a psychotherapist and professional life, career and public speaking coach, and now runs a successful practice in Holywell, in her hometown of Swords.
Eileen was 50 years old when she reached a crisis point in her nursing career, and burned out , decided to reinvent herself and forge a new path in life.
Returning to studies as a mature student, she trained to be a life coach with the Irish Life Coach Institute, a life-changing experience that was followed by training at PCI College, Dublin, to become a psychotherapist.
