A company is selling replacement PlayStation 5 plates, telling Sony: Go ahead, sue us.
Canadian-based device customisation company Dbrand launched its replacement PS5 plates, dubbed Darkplates, with a brazen attitude towards the prospect of a Sony takedown.

As Polygon spotted, the replacement plates are now on sale. They re matte black and will set you back at least $49 - without the cost of shipping. With the release of Darkplates, the unthinkable has happened, Dbrand says on its website. we ve taken Sony s monumental achievement in bad design. and fixed it. We can only assume that our prizes are in the mail.

Treyarch has added new League Play restrictions to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War following the negative response from some players to its launch.
As Eurogamer reported yesterday, the much-anticipated League Play mode launched in Black Ops Cold War this week and it got off to a rough start.
The League Play system, which is similar to that used in Black Ops 4, was criticised for a lack of restrictions on weapons, their attachments, field upgrades, scorestreaks and more. Some had hoped for a ruleset closer to that used by professional players in the Call of Duty League. What they got was a variation of standard multiplayer.

The long-awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War League Play launched last night, and it s already run up against a number of issues affecting players.
League Play is the ultra competitive portion of Black Ops Cold War s multiplayer that sorts players into a skill-based division and challenges them to move up a ranking ladder.
It strips the game down to 4v4 (standard multiplayer is at least 6v6), and puts restrictions on loadouts in a bid to recreate the ruleset used by professional players in the Call of Duty League.

Sony has released a PlayStation 5 system update that sorts out a PlayStation 4 disc upgrade issue.
The PS4 version of a game was sometimes installed from the PS4 game disc even after upgrading the disc version of a PS4 game to the PS5 version. This update, which weighs in at 868.3MB, fixes that issue.

It s an impressive figure for the supply-constrained console, which was released in November 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The sales figure, accurate as of 31st December 2020, is roughly in-line with the launch sales of the PlayStation 4 at the same point in its life. But it s worth noting demand for the PS5 has heavily outstripped supply, and it remains out of stock at a raft of retailers who have faced trouble with scalpers and bots.
