RM asked to address speed concerns on local grid

Tammy Dunn is tired of seeing vehicles fly by her house, disobeying the post speed limit, and fears an accident is waiting to happen. For the safety of her family, she’s written a letter to the Rural Municipality (RM) of Prince Albert council, requesting the speed limit on her road may be changed from 80km/hr to 60km/hr. Dunn told paNOW there is a big hill less than a 100 feet from her driveway, and it’s almost impossible for a driver to see what’s happening on the road, until they are up on top off the hill.

A change to a Rural Municipality (RM) of Prince Albert bylaw, should help ease some stress for those people leasing a property. The fire management bylaw amendment allows the renter to get a burning permit so long as the permission is written into the lease agreement they have with the property owner. If the renter wanted to get a permit in the past, they would be required to provide a permission letter from the landowner. “It caused a lot of grief,” RM administrator Roxanne Roy told paNOW. Roy provided one example where a man who rents from a lady, who is currently in a long term care home and does not have access to email or a fax machine.
