An Amber Alert notifying the public on Sunday morning about Halo Branton s disappearance was delayed due to a technical glitch in the state s alert system.
The mother of an infant girl from whose disappearance prompted an Amber Alert over the weekend is facing additional felony charges following the girl's death, according to police.
Persia Nelson, 24, was originally charged with second-degree manslaughter in Halo Branton s death. But that charge was being upgraded to second-degree murder, depraved indifference to human life, Schenectady County District Attorney Robert Carney said in an afternoon press conference.
