Individual stores will let shoppers know if dogs are allowed inside by displaying a dog-friendly sticker on their window. People can also ask before entering the store.
Business leaders at the Mall at Fox Run in Newington know people love their pets, so they are going dog friendly and throwing a Yappy Hour to celebrate.
Eric Brasier, general manager of the mall, said on Monday morning that when he worked for Saks Fifth Avenue, people loved to bring their dogs in for the shopping experience. When I got here, I noticed it was service dogs only, Brasier said.
Brasier started working on a plan to get four-legged friends into the halls of the mall, and it still hasn t been formally announced, but the Mall at Fox Run will become dog friendly this month.
NEWINGTON When Eva Ilg, owner of craft shop Locally Handmade, opened her first business in The Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem, she had no immediate expansion plans. When the management team of Mall at Fox Run contacted her last year about opening a second location, she was hesitant but ultimately made a decision that would change the course of her business.
In opening her second location in Newington, she saw tremendous organic growth within the mall. Of the two locations, Ilg said that the location within the Mall at Fox Run quickly outpaced the other in terms of foot traffic sales.
