Ash in our airspace? Montreal's volcano centre stands on guard for us

Article content Following the eruption of the La Soufrière volcano on the eastern Caribbean island of St. Vincent, the Montreal Gazette got to wondering: Who’s monitoring volcanic activity in Canada if there’s any at all and who’s standing on guard for thee if volcanic activity elsewhere in the world could affect Canadians? There are nine volcanic ash advisory centres (VAACs) in the world, one of which is in Montrealers’ own backyard.
