The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has launched a manhunt for the suspected Fulani herdsmen who invaded Ugboanyim-Aniyi community in Amagunze, Nkanu East local government of the state, killing one resident and injuring another. SaharaReporters reported on Tuesday that suspected herdsmen invaded the community and attacked two siblings, killing one and leaving the other seriously injured.
The Nigeria Police Force has said that its personnel in Enugu Command busted an armed robbery gang operating under the cover of ‘unknown gunmen’. It also arrested a 32-year-old suspect identified as Chinenye Nwadike. A police team led by operatives of the command serving in Octopus Squad also recovered five firearms and 374 live ammunition from the suspect. The police team also recovered a tricycle which the gang earlier stole at gunpoint.
The Nigeria Police Force on Monday said it arrested a 21-year-old man identified as Sunday Chukwu for unlawful possession of a firearm in Enugu. According to a statement by Enugu Command's spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, his arrest was a sequel to the increase in operational, investigation and intelligent-gathering activities of the police to actualise the 2022 Yuletide security and safety plan in the state.
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested one Osuagwu Chidubem who killed his lover, Amarachi Chukwu, and stole her Toyota Corolla car. The suspect was arrested at Nekede Owerri, while attempting to sell the car, according to a statement by Enugu Command's spokesman DSP Daniel Ndukwe. Ndukwe stated that the suspect committed the crime on November 1, 2022 at the deceased’s residence at Meniru, Awkunanaw in the Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State.
