Any time that composer and violinist Darian Donovan Thomas takes on a project whether it’s premiering a new work he’s created or touring with acclaimed singer-songwriter Moses Sumney he tries to work with people he likes.
“I kind of make it a rule to not work with people I’m not friends with,” said Thomas, 27, a San Antonio native who now lives in New York. “Even if it means losing out on money and stuff like that, I’m fine with that. Because I would just rather work with people I know and who know me, and work with people where I know the energy in the room will be right so that we can all push further.�
